- Lived in Kiev, worked as a tuner of musical instruments, and was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Church. July 8, 1937 – arrested in a case against Catholic clergy and laity. Charges stated that “in his political convictions, [Wenzel] is a big Polish patriot who hates the Soviet regime.” July 9, 1937 – sentenced to five (?) years in corrective labor camp [Special Board, NKVD, UkrSSR, Kiev oblast].
