Biography of Robert Straat

Lived in Moscow and was an official of the Volga German Republic mission. He assisted young girls from the Volga German colonies with their paper work when they wanted to go to Austria to enter the convent. In 1930 he was arrested in a case against German Catholic clergy and laity. Charged with “active work in recruiting and sending young parishioners from the Volga German Republic to convents in Austria.” Convicted. Fate thereafter unknown.
