Biography of Father Mialdazhis

Graduated from seminary and was ordained. He served in parishes in Lithuania and was there at the time of the Soviet and German occupations. In 1945 – after the return of the Red Army and establishment of Soviet rule – Fr. Mialdazhis was arrested and sentenced to prison camp. Sent to Intlag (Inta, Kozhvinsk region, Komi ASSR); in February 1948 he was transferred to Minlag; released in 1954 and remained in the village. In September 1954 he was living in the western part of the village of Inta, where he clandestinely celebrated Mass in his apartment. Fate thereafter unknown. Source: Pokaianie, p. 397
